Ben-Tita was my doctor for almost a decade. Himself is a kind and helpful person, those type of people that loves his work and genuinely care about people and always took good care of me and my family.
Unfortunately, in the lest 3 years was extremely hard to get an appointment with him, every time we needed medical assistance we were pushed to the another doctor (Mrs. J. Landaeta) in the practice;
and here is the reason for such low scored review.

I wish I could write a great story about a female latin doctor (I am no doctor, but I am a latin women and somewhat writing this breaks my heart), but I can not!

Two and a half years ago I gave birth to my first child, I exclusively did breastfeed for 5 months and as expected, my menstruation just returned after the milk demand was less.
My period was completely weird, really messed up, I would bleed more than the usual in quantity and days (before pregnancy I had 5 days periods and very regular, when I got my period back after 6 months I gave labor, it would last between 9 and 12 days), I experienced sever pain (mostly would need to take Ibuprofen 600mg every 6/8 hours continually to easy the pain during period), coagulations sized 2 euros coins, horrible migraines, exhaustion, depression.
At first I tough that it could be related to the breastfeeding and waited for about 3 months but the situation got worse and I decided to call the doctor to ask for a blood exam and an appointment. Ben-Tita wasn’t there and I had my first contact with dr. Landaeta. She barely look at patients face, during the appointment while I was telling her my symptoms she just got the phone, without say anything and started to talk to someone. I waited for her phone call to be over, she didn’t even apologize and interrupted me while I was explaining my symptoms. Said it was too general symptoms and she had nothing where to start from to investigated. She said my blood exam pointed slightly low vitamin D but nothing else and suggested a spiral (DIU), what I refused. I wanted to get pregnant sooner and due psychological problems, the psychiatrist advised against hormones therapy (including the spiral).
She wasn’t very pleasant when I refused, she tried to say I was wrong to think like that , she had put the DIU in many women and none had problems, excluding all my symptoms and psychiatric conditions in a very arrogant rude way.
During labor the placenta was broken inside my uterus and the hospital team said it could had been something small left inside due rupture, they cleaned the best they could and if I had any big changes when getting my period I should contact my GP.
I insisted in a physical exam but dr. Landaeta refused because she didn’t see the need. She squeezed my nails and said: “You didn’t loose as much blood as you thought. Go home and if in 6 months gets worse you return”.
I left the practice confused and started to think that indeed it was all in my head, I was going mad.
But I was in pain, I had no quality of life and the situation kept getting worse. My belly during menstruation would get as big as when I was 8 months pregnant.
Early 2022 I had COVID (I had 3 shoots of vaccine and it was moderate), 6 weeks after I recovered from the virus, I got really bad: I developed a permanent dizziness that I had to crawl around the house, severe chest pain that irradiated to my jawline, throat and ears, one of my ankles would swell as if it was broken, I had sever joint pains. The migraines, in this point were so severe I would have fever and nauseas during crises. All this symptoms would coincide with my period that I would get every 15/18 days and last for as long.
The pain was unbearable and I had to self medicate all the time.
One day I felt so sick that I desperately called for a doctor appointment and requested to see Ben-Tita, his assistant didn’t want to male an appointment with him trying to say the he would only be available to see me in 3 weeks. I accepted to wait because the horrible experience with the another doctor. But, one day in this waiting time, I wokeup seeing rings of light, I passed out of pain while taking care of a toddler all by myself, putting also my child’s life in risk. Called again and insisted to see Ben-Tita. Assistant was irreducible and said he would not have time, if I couldn’t wait for 4 more days. I said or she would get me an appointment or I was going to call the hospital emergency, after that she pushed me again to Landaeta - at this point I didn’t care very much who was the doctor since I would get some help.
Ben-Tita move his office far from the city center and we don’t have a car, my husband had to literally care me there, once I had a permanent dizzinesses. Arriving there, the doctor barely looked at me, said that everything I was telling I reported before, I had no fever and she would exams me because she had to. I was menstruated and she didn’t performed an vaginal test (again). One more time she said it was to general symptoms, that she couldn’t connect to anything.
I tried to suggest a specific test for Hashimoto thyroid once my hole family has it (and I am in an age of possibly developing it).
Landaeta doesn’t think with us, she gets upset when we ask or suggest things. It’s like only her can know things!
She sent me home to do a blood exam again and said if nothing would come, only than she would send me to someone else to investigate further. She acted like I was making a drama without no reason.
Leaving her room and talking to my husband, I said to him I wanted to look for another doctor close home and because I felt really neglected for all those months.
She heard and very unprofessionally came out her room shouting to everyone hear “so go, go find someone else”.
And that was exactly what I did, found another GP, that is great and available. I arrived in his office with high-blood pressure 190/120, my belly was swollen as if I was going to labor and passing out… The new doctor refereed me with urgency to the gynecologist, neurologist, cardiologist and pulmonologist.

We found a big mess growing (probably since I gave birth) in my uterus that I will go throw a surgery next week to remove and have it better researched, they also found endometriosis that possible spread to my chest. The gynecologist wondered why I didn’t had a consultation with my GP when the symptoms started and that the delay of treatment could had compromised my health. When I told all this story to her, she was very chocked as well! I also went through neurological treatment and one of my bronchial had signs of collapse.

Months of my life stoled by pain that could had being avoided if Dr. Landaeta would actually come out of her high horse, look at her patients eyes with some empathy and treat us as thinking humans been. Without mentioning the possibility of this mess be malignant, if she had performed a simple vaginal test (at the first appointment almost 2 years ago) she may had discovered it in very early stage and if it’s bad (hope not) chances of treatment with cure are far better.

With her, it always feels like a fight, always like we are stealing her time. She treats her patients as if we’re all ignorants and doesn’t know our own body or doesn’t have any instructions in biology or medical understanding.
I know another patients from Bem-Tita’s practice and the complaints about Landaeta runs along, unfortunately.

Ben-Tita is a great doctor that I wish had assisted me. He was always kind and thinking with us, explaining carefully and make us feel safe and calm. He should had all good scores and recommendations, but unfortunately not everyone working under his practice deserve it.
